Nursery Provision

Children are able to join our school nursery at the start of the term following their 3rd birthday. We offer three admission points per academic year in September, January and after Easter.

We aim to inspire and nurture pupils attending our rural and eco-friendly nursery by providing as many positive and enriching experiences as possible, following the Early Years curriculum to promote creative learning. Outdoor learning is key to us. Our facilities encourage free flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. Our nursery also benefits from full forest school opportunities under the guidance of our dedicated forest school leader.

As a pre-curser to the school nursery we are now also excited to offer a “Forest Fledglings” baby and toddler group which runs on the school grounds on a Wednesday morning.

Our Early Years team recommend that the best possible transition to a full-time place in the reception class at Kirklington is by attending our school nursery. This builds familiarity towards both the school setting and teaching team, helps children to start establishing friendships and provides a gentle introduction to our school day routines. Kirklington Primary is a feeder school into The Minster School, Southwell for secondary school provision, and is part of the Minster Family of Schools.

We pride ourselves on the flexibility that we offer to our families regarding nursery sessions that we can offer.

The nursery is open from 8.45am until 3.30pm every day. We work with you to establish an attendance pattern that suits your family. This can include mornings only sessions, mornings plus lunchtimes, full days or afternoons only. Attendance can be daily or for selected days during the week.

All families are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare and some families qualify for 30 hours of funded childcare by obtaining a 30 funding code from the www.childcarechoices.gov.uk website. If you only qualify for 15 hours of funding, we are still able to offer additional hours for which you would be invoiced.

It is also possible to share your funding entitlement between two settings, if you would like to access nursery sessions both here and at another nursery that your child already attends.

For further details on any of the above, or to book a visit, please call our friendly office staff on 01636 812360 or email office@kirklington.notts.sch.uk. We are happy to offer no-obligation visits during school hours to view our facilities and see the children learning.
